A new family for Ivanko from “Happy Home” Kyiv

When Ivanko arrived at “Happy Home” Kyiv, he didn’t trust anyone.

This little boy, who had been found on the street, had never felt safe.
After we took him from the baby orphanage, we saw it clearly: he seemed to be hiding inside himself — tense, constantly on guard.

Just to take him to the doctor, we had to try three times. Each time we got in the car, we ended up going back.
He would resist, scream, and was terrified we’d leave him behind. So again and again, we said:
“See? We’re coming back. We’re here with you.”

And then, things began to change.
Ivanko grew to love car rides, hugs, and conversations. He started reaching out to people, opening up, speaking better, and finding joy in little things — like visitors or his favorite pool activities.

And right during this time, a family saw him.
At first — in photos and videos. Then they came to “Happy Home” and fell in love with him for real.

Now Ivanko is home — in his own family. And we believe that everything that started in our house will continue to grow even deeper and faster in the warm family atmosphere he had been waiting for.

Because children don’t heal in walls — they heal in hugs, warmth, and care.
And that is exactly what we work for every single day 💛
